Chris Goldfinger is one of the most respected and influential figures in reggae and dancehall broadcasting. Best known for hosting the legendary BBC Radio 1 Reggae Dancehall Show, he introduced reggae and dancehall music to mainstream UK audiences for 13 years, from 1996 until 2009. Growing up in Jamaica and attending the prestigious Jamaica College, Goldfinger developed a deep understanding and passion for Caribbean music and culture that has shaped his career.
During his time at BBC Radio 1, he interviewed some of the biggest names in reggae and dancehall, including Damian Marley, Beenie Man, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Capleton, and Barrington Levy. His show became a trusted platform for both established artists and emerging talent, helping to elevate the profile of reggae music worldwide.
Following his departure from Radio 1, Goldfinger continued to expand his influence across radio, live events, and international entertainment. He has appeared on BBC 1Xtra, joined OnTop FM, and remains a highly sought-after DJ and presenter. He is also the owner of the popular Tabú Lounge venue in Croydon and has toured extensively, performing in countries including Jamaica, Zimbabwe, and The Gambia.
