General Trees is a veteran reggae and roots selector whose musical journey spans more than four decades. His passion for reggae ignited in the early 1980s, where he became an influential figure within the UK sound‑system scene. Throughout this era, he worked with several renowned sounds — Rebel Sound, Cosmic Sound, Redman / Studio Mix Sound, Marcus, and Golden Heart Sound — helping to champion reggae music and preserve the rich traditions of sound‑system culture across the country.
A defining moment in his career came in 1989, when he performed at the iconic Notting Hill Carnival, contributing to one of the world’s largest and most celebrated showcases of Caribbean culture.
In 2003, General Trees joined Skyline Radio, where he has now been selecting for more than 23 years. Over the decades, he has earned multiple trophies and built a loyal following for his expert selections in roots, lovers rock, dub, and classic reggae riddims.
